Who We Are
Altra Builders Ltd. began in spring of 2016. Alex Klaassen and Travis Slootweg were two friends who had been in the construction industry for over 10 years as framers. After being involved with homeowners and builders in the process of building and renovating homes, it became clear this was a direction they were interested in heading. They decided it was time to grow their business and experiences to become involved in the entire building process from first phone call to a move in ready home.

Travis Slootweg lives in Rosedale, BC with his wife and three sons. He has been building custom homes, agricultural barns, commercial buildings, townhouses, as well as framing and concrete forming for the past 16 years. Most recently, his work has included home renovations and custom home builds including a beautiful lake house on Kawaka Lake in Hope, BC. His time outside of work is spent with his family, smoking meat on his Traeger, and working on his own fixer-upper home.
